Peel the celery bulb and then cut it into approx. 1.5 cm thick slices. Cook in boiling salted water for about 10 minutes and then allow to cool.
Then bread the celery slices in flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs. Heat a little butter and oil in the pan and fry the celery schnitzel for about 5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper before serving.
Fried potatoes or mashed potatoes go well with it.
