Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the onion and mix with the minced meat. Peel the garlic and either chop it very finely or add it pressed through the press. Mix in the baking powder (which, by the way, counteracts loosening and drying out on the grill), pepper and Vegeta (be careful: Vegeta is very salty. So wait before adding salt - if necessary at all). Mix in the egg. Season the mixture to taste and maybe add the spices again if necessary. Then shape finger-sized, but slightly thicker sausages. Place on a hot grill and grill.
  2. Note: This was one of many recipes from the former Serbo Croatia. My friend from Croatia makes them very similar, just doesn`t use baking powder, but a shot of mineral water (which has the same effect). It also tastes good with hot paprika and does not include the egg. However, we had tried the first version and my husband said he knew it from childhood (he is from Slovenia).
