Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 ° C. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Break 100 g chocolate into 30 pieces. Melt the remaining 100 g over a water bath or in the microwave and let cool down a little.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the Chai Latte powder, flour, salt, cocoa powder and baking powder thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
  4. In a second, larger bowl, beat the butter with the hand mixer until creamy, add the sugar and continue stirring. Mix in the egg and finally the melted chocolate. When everything is well mixed, add the flour in three to four units. Only work until all the ingredients have been folded in. The dough has a nice, smooth and easily malleable consistency.
  5. For the next step I use disposable gloves, but you don`t have to. Remove thirty portions from the dough (about 25 grams for me) and form small, round flatbreads on the palm of your hand. Place a piece of chocolate in the middle and fold the dough in from all sides. Then shape into balls with gentle pressure with both hands. Place on the baking sheets at a distance of 5 centimeters and bake for 10-12 minutes one after the other.
  6. Always remember that cookies straight out of the oven are extremely soft and only harden slightly when they cool down. Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes and then pull them together with the baking paper onto a wire rack and let them cool down completely.
