Instructions

  1. First, a powder is made from black tea, sugar, vanilla pod and vanilla sugar. To do this, put everything together in a food processor or mixer and grind to a fine powder. It should have the consistency of powdered sugar.
  2. Depending on the size of the mixer, this can of course be done in stages, but for better binding of the ingredients and less dust, it makes sense to grind tea and vanilla pods each with a part of sugar. (I first ground 50 g each of black tea and sugar in my grinder, then vanilla pods with sugar and at the end the remaining 125 g sugar)
  3. Then mix the powder made with the powdered milk and the spices in a bowl. The best way to do this is to stir slowly with a whisk. Now fill the finished chai tea powder into easily closable glasses and give it to loved ones and / or enjoy it yourself.
  4. The recipe makes about 625 g powder, which is enough for 30 cups of chai tea.
  5. Preparation of the actual chai tea:
  6. Depending on your taste, pour 3 - 4 teaspoons of the powder per cup (250 ml) with hot, not boiling water, let it steep for a moment and enjoy.
  7. Tip: 125 g of the amount of sugar can optionally be reduced or omitted, then everyone can sweeten the finished chai tea as they wish.
