If you feel like it, sift the flour with the baking powder. Or just put everything in the bowl.
Add the sugar, vanilla sugar and the softened butter and then work the whole thing with the mixer (dough hook) into a crumbly, loose dough. For me that takes 3 - 4 minutes.
Then put 2/3 of the dough in a springform pan lined with baking paper or greased. Press the crumbly dough into the mold with your hands. You don`t need to pull it up on the sides like a shortcrust pastry. Then simply lay the cherries evenly on the dough and distribute the rest of the crumbly dough on top. Now preheat the oven to 160 degrees and bake the cake for 50 minutes when the temperature is reached.
