Dice the rolls and soak them in the milk. Beat the butter, egg yolks, sugar and cinnamon until frothy. Add the soaked rolls and stir everything together. Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold in the egg whites.
Place the mixture on a microwave-safe plate and spread the drained cherries on top. Cook in the microwave at 600 W for about 9 minutes and then leave to rest for another 2 minutes.
Serve with either vanilla sauce or thickened cherry juice.
