  1. Drain the cherries on a sieve and collect the juice in a bowl, remove 6 tablespoons of cherry juice and place in a bowl.
  2. Mix the cornstarch with the 6 tablespoons of cherry juice and bring the remaining cherry juice to the boil. Then stir in the starch mixture, bring to the boil and add sugar and cinnamon. Add the drained cherries and stir gently.
