The dish is a sham like the Kölsche Halve Hahn, it does not contain a scrap of chicken.
It is said to come from the area of Pesmes (Franche-Comté), where there used to be a lot of watchmakers. They are said to have built such good watches that no one ever had to bring them for repair, which is why these watchmakers suffered from a chronic lack of money and could therefore only afford very simple dishes that they then gave such imaginary names to perhaps eat the chicken to imagine.
Today you can find the dish more and more on the menus, as it goes well with light and fast cuisine, with a salad it makes a delicious and healthy meal.
