For some reason, I am sure that just like me, you are very often visited by the question: “What to cook?” Sometimes you want something unusual, but easy to prepare, and even better – and not very expensive in terms of finance. Let’s try to cook the classic Japanese Yakitori skewers. They can be made from various products: fish, seafood, meat and poultry offal. We will make kebabs from chicken hearts.

Chicken Heart Kebabs (Yakitori Recipe) Instructions

  1. Take 600 g of rinsed chicken hearts, already trimmed from excess fat and veins, and marinate them in Yakitori sauce. The ready-made sauce is sold now, it seems to me, in many stores. You can make this sauce yourself, but I thought it would be quite a time consuming (sometimes finding all the necessary products in the city is problematic) and financially. Therefore, I bought a ready-made store sauce. We leave our hearts to marinate for at least an hour. Like any kebab, the longer they are in the marinade, the tastier.
  2. When our hearts are marinated, we take skewers, which we pre-soak in water, so that they do not burn during frying. We string hearts on skewers. Of course, ideally, these kebabs are to be fried on the grill or on open coals, but I don’t have this opportunity, so I simply fry them in a lightly greased, well-heated, thick-bottomed pan. We fry the kebabs, turning them regularly until cooked.
  3. While the hearts are roasting, we will prepare a side dish for them. Soak rice noodles in boiling water and leave for 15 minutes, then rinse with cold water. The rice noodles are ready.
  4. Cut cucumbers and tomatoes into large cubes, pour with soy sauce to taste, and sprinkle with sunflower oil a little.
  5. The hearts are fried quickly enough, it took me about 15 minutes. But if you have large hearts, then it may take a little longer.
  6. Remove hearts from heat, garnish with fresh vegetables and rice noodles, sprinkle with soy sauce, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve.

Enjoy your meal!
