Drain and collect the liquid from the mushrooms, asparagus and peas.
Make a sweat from the butter and flour, pour the collected liquid over it and bring to the boil. Add more water as needed. Stir in the processed cheese and add the peas, mushrooms and asparagus sections along with the chicken. Add the herbs as desired. Season to taste with salt.
This goes well with rice or pasta or potatoes. I always prepare a chicken soup from the chicken broth that was created when the chicken was boiled.
