Peel and chop the onion. Mash the garlic in a garlic press.
Sweat the onions in the heated olive oil. Add the chickpeas and sauté briefly. Add the peanut butter, tomatoes, spices and garlic and bring to the boil briefly. Season to taste with salt, pepper and chilli sauce.
Let simmer for about 30 minutes so that the spices draw nicely.
