So that the chicory doesn`t taste so bitter, I remove the stalk as best I can and cut it in half from the tip towards the stalk so that the bitter substances don`t spread throughout the chicory. Then I put the halved chicory in warm water, so that bitter substances are also removed.
The onion is diced and fried in butter with the ham. Then you add the chicory, which you cut into bite-sized pieces shortly beforehand. At medium setting, everything is heated until you have the desired firmness. Now the cream cheese comes into the pan and becomes liquid due to the heat.
The dish is now ready!
Depending on how you like it, you can add pepper or other spices. There is no need for salt, as the ham has already salted the dish.
