Sweat the onions in the oil. Deglaze with the tomato puree, add some water (still evaporating) and salt. After about a quarter of an hour, add a clove of garlic and the sugar. Let the sauce reduce (a total of thirty minutes to two hours - depending on how thick you like it). Alternatively, you can also buy ready-made sauce.
In the meantime, put the soy slices in a bowl, season with the second clove of garlic, salt, pepper, chilli and soy sauce as required. According to the instructions on the package, pour hot vegetable stock and leave to soak for a good twenty minutes.
After the soaking time, add the shredded meat to the sauce with the soaking water and the bell pepper and simmer together until it has softened a little. Drain the corn and beans and add them towards the end of the cooking time so they don`t get too soft.
When everything is done, season to taste again and, if necessary, season again. This fits e.g., Flatbread.
