Instructions

  1. Mix the semolina with the sugar (if you like it sweeter, you should probably use a little more) and the cocoa powder. Bring the milk to the boil and stir in the semolina mixture. Let the semolina simmer over a low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, otherwise it may burn. Then pour the semolina into a bowl, smooth it out if necessary, sprinkle with the chocolate flakes and allow to cool.
  2. In the meantime, drain the cherries. Catch the juice and mix it with the kirsch. If children eat with them, the kirsch is left out. Mix the starch with 5 tablespoons of juice mixture until smooth.
  3. Put the brown sugar in a saucepan, let it caramelize and deglaze with the juice.
  4. Now let everything simmer until the caramel has completely dissolved. Now stir in the smoothly stirred starch and let everything simmer for about 1 minute. Only then add the cherries and let them cool down.
  5. Mix the semolina with the chocolate shavings until smooth. Whip the cream until stiff. Fold about half of the cream into the semolina.
  6. Have suitable glasses ready and layer them as follows. First cherries, then semolina and then cream, then just a dollop of each, as a decoration, so to speak. Finally sprinkle some chocolate chips on top and then enjoy.
