Instructions

  1. Put the water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to the boil. Let it boil for 5 minutes until the sugar has dissolved - stir briefly every now and then. Remove from the hob and add the cocoa powder, stirring constantly. Then put the pot back on the stove and simmer over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the cocoa powder has completely dissolved. The result is a nice, tasty, thick sauce. Now take the saucepan off the hob and add the vanilla extract (tip: A packet of vanilla sugar or a few drops of vanilla flavoring can be used instead of the extract - a freshly scraped vanilla pod is better, however).
  2. The chocolate sauce can be served hot or cold and can be kept in the refrigerator for about a week.
  3. When using cocoa powder, please note that it is not drinking chocolate!
