- Break the chocolate into pieces and slowly melt with the cream over low heat.
- Pour off half of the resulting chocolate sauce and set aside.
- Mix the butter, sugar, vanillin and a pinch of salt until creamy, stir in the eggs one after the other.
- Mix in the flour, cocoa and baking powder.
- Slowly add the chocolate sauce (one half) and the milk alternately and stir again and again.
- Grease the waffle iron and bake about 10 waffles from the batter.
- Serve with the remaining chocolate sauce.
