First peel, wash and thinly slice the potatoes. Melt the margarine or butter in a pan and add the potato slices.
Then peel the onion and cut into small cubes.
When the potato slices are seared, add the diced onions and the diced ham and fry everything until golden brown. Finally, you season everything with salt, pepper and fried potatoes and serve it e.g., to a meat dish.
