Instructions

  1. For the liqueur it is best to use whole spices, i.e. not ground into powder, then you do not have to filter the liqueur afterwards. Whole spices are also usually more flavorful.
  2. You need 3-4 sufficiently large screw-top jars. Distribute the spices evenly on the glasses, slit the vanilla pods lengthways, peel the ginger and cut into small slices, distribute on the glasses. Thinly cut the peel of the oranges with a sharp knife so that there is as little white as possible from the peel. Fill the glasses with rock sugar. Then pour the vodka on top so that everything is covered with liquid.
  3. Let it steep in a light place for at least 4, better 6 weeks. Finally pour it through a fine sieve several times and distribute it on beautiful bottles.
  4. Tip:
  5. You can vary the spices, but you should be careful that strong spices such as cinnamon and anise do not overwhelm the other spice notes if you take a lot of them. You can also add lemon peel, then the liqueur will be fruity.
  6. Brandy or cognac also works well as alcohol, it must be at least 38% alcohol.
  7. Brown rock candy also has a fine caramel note, if necessary brown cane sugar is also possible, so that the liqueur gets an appealing color afterwards.
