Instructions

  1. Briefly sauté the diced onions in olive oil. Then add the leek cut into pieces and the carrots cut into small pieces, stir gently and simmer with the lid closed for approx. 12 minutes over medium heat.
  2. Then add rice, salt, sugar and water, stir again and simmer for a further 13-15 minutes over a low heat until the rice is cooked through. Finally stir in a little olive oil and leave to cool with the lid on.
  3. Add a few lemon wedges to serve. Flatbread tastes good with it.
  4. It tastes best when stored in a cool place for a day.
  5. As an alternative, you can also add the juice of 1 orange instead of just plain water.
