Instructions

  1. The day before:
  2. For the eyes, knead the marzipan mixture and 75 g powdered sugar and roll into 24 balls. Then press 24 chocolate chips into the marzipan mixture as pupils. I then used sugar script for the pupils.
  3. Put the whole bag of food coloring in half a liter of water and mix. Color the desiccated coconut with half of the food coloring mixed in water. Occasionally put on kitchen gloves for this. To dry, spread the desiccated coconut on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let it dry until the next day. When dry, transfer to a bowl.
  4. Next day:
  5. Preheat the oven to 175 ° C, top and bottom heat and prepare 12 muffin tins or paper baking tins.
  6. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt and the remaining chocolate chips in a bowl. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, butter, sugar and milk until frothy, add the flour and chocolate mixture and stir in.
  7. Pour the batter into the muffin tins. Bake the muffins on the middle rack for 20 minutes. Then let it cool down.
  8. Mix the rest of the food coloring, dissolved in water, with the rest of the powdered sugar. Brush the muffin surface with it and dip the muffins upside down in the desiccated coconut. Then cut a small wedge-shaped piece from the muffins and glue half a biscuit with icing into each. Secure the eyes in the muffins with toothpicks. Let everything dry for 3 hours.
  9. The eyes can also be glued on with cast, but that didn`t last for me.
