Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and vanilla sugar.
Peel and grate the apple. Mix the grated apple, cottage cheese, butter, milk and egg yolk as well. Put the moist ingredients on top of the dry ones and mix in with a scraper or wooden spoon. Beat the egg whites until stiff, pouring in the remaining sugar. Carefully fold the stiff egg whites into the mixture.
Let the oil get hot in a non-stick pan, put in small heaps of the dough with a tablespoon and flatten it a little. When one side is brown, turn.
