Wash the cranberries thoroughly, sort and cut in half. Put together with the sugar, the spices and the alcohol in a tightly closing container and let it rest for at least 6 weeks. Shake from time to time so that the sugar dissolves.
Filter through after 6 weeks and season to taste. If the liqueur is not sweet enough for your personal taste, add a little more sugar and let it ripen again.
The liqueur gets a very nice red color and tastes slightly bitter.
Tip: You can use the fruits of the mixture to make a very tasty autumn jam together with sour cherries and marzipan.
