Put sugar and milk in a saucepan and bring to the boil while stirring until the sugar has dissolved. Then add the cream and mascarpone and let it boil once. Pour into an empty ice cream jar and place in the freezer. Stir with a hand mixer 2 to 3 times until the mixture is frozen. The result is a wonderfully creamy ice cream.
This recipe works just as well in the ice cream machine, the machine then does the stirring.
