Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 160 ° C. Melt the butter with the honey in a small pan. Let cool slightly and add the apple juice.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oat flakes, chopped almonds and pecans, desiccated coconut, cinnamon and vanilla sugar. Pour the liquid over it and mix well again so that all ingredients are well and evenly wetted.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly over it. Bake the flake mixture in the middle of the oven for 30 minutes. Mix occasionally if necessary. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
  4. The cooled crispy flakes keep in an airtight container for about a month. I was told that for a vegan variant you can use butter e.g., can replace vegetable margarine and honey with sugar beet syrup. Nicely packaged, it is also suitable as a gift or souvenir.
