Instructions

  1. The cucumber is halved lengthways once. Note that the tip of the cucumber must still be visible (this will be the locomotive), so maybe 2-3 cm from the tip of the cucumber start to cut in half.
  2. Now cut half a cucumber into 3 equal parts (locomotive and 2 hangers) and connect each part with a toothpick. So that you can`t see the toothpicks between the hangers, you can stick radish slices on them, but it looks good even without it.
  3. Now take 1/4 cucumber (from the still unused cucumber) and attach it to the locomotive as a driver`s cab with a toothpick and cut windows on each side. A part of the cucumber that was cut in half at the beginning and now left over can then be used as a roof.
  4. Peel a carrot and cut into pieces approx. 1-2 cm wide. Attach 4 wheels to each of the locomotive and the hangers with a toothpick.
  5. Since it is supposed to be a steam locomotive, the radishes are now needed as chimneys. Elongated rather than completely round radishes are more suitable for this. Now fix this in front of the cab with toothpicks.
  6. Finally, hollow out the two hangers a little and place vegetables in them as cargo to suit your taste.
