A very original combination of sweetish cranberry sauce and meat balls – well, who can resist? I usually cook these Czech-style meatballs at home for Christmas. Try it, yummy!
Let’s make the sauce. Combine cranberries, sugar, honey, 1/4 cup water, orange juice, cinnamon, honey and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes until lightly thickened.
In parallel, we will make meatballs. Soak the bread in milk, add to the minced meat along with the rest of the milk. Here – greens, salt, nutmeg. Stir and form the meatballs.
Fry the resulting balls in vegetable oil on all sides until they are crusty.
Now drain the excess fat from the pan and add our sweet Czech sauce. Simmer covered over low heat for 5-10 minutes.
