The simplest recipe for the famous dish “Dauphin” – potatoes are baked in cream. Following the classic Dauphin recipe, if you wish, you can add nutmeg and sprinkle the potatoes with grated cheese.

Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Peel and cut the potatoes into circles approximately 0.5 cm thick.
Place the potatoes in a saucepan, cover with cream, stir. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Transfer the potatoes to a shallow baking dish (approx. 2.5 L). Sprinkle with finely chopped garlic, add salt and pepper to taste.
Strain the cream in which the potatoes were cooked and pour the cream over the garlic and potatoes.
Cover with foil and cook the Dauphin potatoes in the oven for about 40 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake the Dauphin for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
