Instructions

  1. Not completely original but a little further developed at the last party, the burger from the cult film, ideal for movie evenings or summer barbecue parties.
  2. Finely grate the cloves of garlic with the back of a knife, cut four approx. 0.5 cm thick slices from the onion (use the rest for other purposes), do the same with the tomato, wash the lettuce leaves. Halve the rolls.
  3. For the patties (burger meatballs), mix the mince well with paprika, cumin, pepper and garlic and mix in the teriyaki sauce. Shape the mixture into four balls, press them flat and press them very flat (about 1 cm thick) with a plate, for example, and let them rest in the refrigerator for about half an hour.
  4. For the sauce, mix the soy sauce and sugar in a small saucepan, bring to the boil, immediately reduce the heat and simmer for 2 - 3 minutes, then mix in the ketchup and chilli sauce and simmer for a few more minutes, then let it cool.
  5. Grill the burger patties on the grill as desired (medium or well should be, rare is not recommended), while brushing the onion slices with honey and frying them in the hot pan, turning several times (should the slice fall apart while frying, is that not a problem). Remove the finished patties from the fire and cover with a pineapple and cheese slice. Briefly toast the insides of the rolls on the grill.
  6. The finished burger consists of: the bottom of the bun, sauce, lettuce leaf, tomato, onion slice, patty, pineapple, cheese, honey mustard, top of the bun.
