Cut the bacon and onion into small cubes and fry in oil. The onions shouldn`t turn brown. Then add the sour cream and bring to the boil. Season to taste with pepper and salt.
Serve with jacket potatoes, baked potatoes, potato wedges or just plain white bread.
This is an old Hessian poor people recipe, which in the original is very high in calories. But also tastes great in a reduced form with ham and sour cream.
The name is derived from dipping - in Hessian: ducking.
