Peel the garlic clove and work it into a paste. Whisk the egg with the garlic paste, salt and pepper. The egg mass can, but does not have to, be diluted with a small amount of water or milk.
Heat a frying pan with olive oil.
Place the bread slices in the egg mixture and turn several times until the bread is completely covered by the egg mixture.
Bake the bread slices in the frying pan until golden. Attention! The garlic must not burn, otherwise it will become bitter.
