Instructions

  1. Pour water and citric acid over the entire flower umbels and let stand for 24 hours. Do not wash the cones beforehand, but check carefully for vermin!
  2. Then filter the flowers out of the water so that only clear elderflower juice remains. This is then mixed with the sugar and the grain. As soon as the sugar has dissolved, the liqueur can be bottled.
  3. Attention: This recipe makes about 6 liters of elderflower liqueur. If you want to try it first, you should possibly reduce the quantities.
  4. If you fill the liqueur into small, decorative bottles, it makes a good gift or small souvenir.
