Instructions

  1. This recipe came about when I still didn`t know what to cook at almost noon on Saturday mornings - and the family asked for lunch.
  2. So I took minced meat from the frozen food, thawed it in the micro and seared it in hot margarine, crumbling it up.
  3. In the time when the meat is browning, chop the onion and clove of garlic and add to the minced meat. Then season with salt, pepper and plenty of curry.
  4. Then I added the frozen peas to the other things in the pot without defrosting, poured on some broth and cooked for about 10 minutes over low heat.
  5. Of course, I had already cooked the rice according to specifications in the meantime. If there are two of us, I need one to one and a half bags.
  6. I mix the finished rice with the minced sauce and season it properly with a strong dash of soy sauce, sambal oelek and possibly curry.
  7. Then I let the whole thing stand for a few minutes and prepare fried eggs in a pan.
  8. These are eaten with pickled cucumbers in the minced rice pot.
  9. This meal went down very well with my family and since then it has been served regularly and not only in emergencies.
  10. The glass with the sambal oelek is also placed on the table for individual heat regulation.
  11. If you don`t like bought instant broth, you can certainly use homemade one. If you refuse soy sauce, you can also leave it out, but I personally think that it belongs in there.
  12. Another important thing: I always take broth without measuring it. Maybe water less at first. If the rice is mixed in and the dish is too firm, it is better to add something more than it is too runny afterwards.
