- Break the chocolate into pieces and melt in the microwave or water bath with 3-4 tablespoons of water. Whip the cream until stiff.
- Beat the melted chocolate until smooth. Now gradually stir in the chilled mascarpone and stir in the rum or Cointreau (orange liqueur).
- Fold in the whipped cream quickly - ideally with a whisk. Pour the mixture into dessert glasses and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Tip: Decorate the chocolate mousse with seasonal fruits, biscuits or chocolate chips.
