Make a dumpling dough from the first 4 ingredients. Make dumplings with the help of a spaetzle slicer or scrape directly into the boiling water from a wooden board.
When they rise, bring them to the boil briefly, remove them with a sieve and soak them in cold water.
Heat lard or oil, sauté onion cubes, diced bacon and chopped garlic, add finely chopped mushrooms and finally toast the dumplings briefly. Sprinkle with chives.
