Roll up a puff pastry or Danish pastry and cover a baking sheet with it, prick several times with a fork.
Brush with apricot jam. Put on the ladyfingers.
Prepare the pudding according to the instructions on the packet and spread it on the lady fingers while still warm. Spread the peeled, grated apples over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar if you like.
Cover with the second puff pastry or Danish pastry and if necessary fold in a small edge so that the mixture does not run out. Pierce it a few times with a fork and brush with the whipped egg.
Bake in the preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 35 minutes.
