Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (gas mark 2-3).
  2. Halve the wholemeal rolls, use a spoon to remove the soft insides and place in a bowl. First cut the ham into strips, then into small cubes. Also cut the cheese into small cubes. Wash the tomatoes and remove the stalks. Halve the tomatoes crosswise and remove the seeds with a spoon. Also cut the tomato flesh into small cubes.
  3. Add the ham, cheese and tomato cubes, crème fraîche and herbs to the bread mixture in the bowl and mix everything together well. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture into the bun halves.
  4. Place the bun halves on a baking sheet, put them in the hot oven and bake for about 10 minutes.
