Heat the milk with the butter to approx. 40 degrees. Dissolve the yeast in it, add sugar and salt. Add egg, cardamom and most of the flour and mix well. Add the rest of the flour and knead until a smooth dough is formed and the dough loosens from your hands and the bowl. Let rise in a warm place for about 40 minutes.
Spread the batter on the muffin molds and press a piece of marzipan into the middle of the muffin / pulla. Brush the surface of the dough with egg and sprinkle with the almond leaves.
Preheat the oven to 225 degrees and bake the muffins / pulla for about 12 minutes. Let cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
