Wash oranges and lemons with hot water and cut into thin slices. Bring almost to a boil in a saucepan with the spices and wine. Place on a rechaud to keep warm. Place the sugar loaf over the pot with sugar tongs or wire mesh, soak it in rum and light it. As long as rum burns on the sugar until it has completely dripped into the wine.
Enjoy it hot.
