Mix the butter with sugar and a pinch of salt until foamy (hand mixer).
Work in the eggs one by one, one at a time, and stir in vigorously.
Stir in the quark spoon by spoon and finally the flour.
FOR THE RED GRIT:
Sort, wash and drain the berries. Quarter the strawberries if necessary. Stir the cornstarch with 5 tablespoons of the cherry nectar until smooth. Bring the rest of the nectar to the boil with 2 tablespoons of sugar. Stir in the mixed cornstarch and bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Simmer for about 2 minutes and carefully fold in the berries. Let cool down.
Preheat the waffle iron to medium level and pour the batter into the iron in portions with a small ladle and bake the waffles one after the other. Let the waffles cool down individually on a wire rack. If you like, you can dust them with powdered sugar before serving.
Pour the red fruit jelly into a nice bowl and serve with the waffles.
Place a small amount of the red jelly on top of each waffle and serve with freshly whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
