Instructions

  1. Cut the salami into small cubes. Peel the onion and cut into very small cubes. Cut off the crust of the bread and soak the toast slices in water and squeeze them out. Instead of toast, you can also use an old bread roll.
  2. Mix the minced meat with all the other ingredients in a bowl until you get a smooth batter. Season the dough again and season again if necessary. If the dough is too wet, thicken with a little breadcrumbs. Then let it rest for about 30 minutes, then the spices can add a little more.
  3. Meanwhile preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Shape the dough into meatballs, place them on the baking sheet and place on the middle rack in the oven. The baking time is approx. 45 minutes.
  5. Since all ovens heat a little differently, please make sure that the meatballs do not burn.
  6. After baking, allow the meatballs to cool slightly, then they will be firmer than it appears when they are hot.
  7. It also tastes great with cauliflower with hollandaise sauce and roasted potatoes.
  8. I find this type of preparation very practical, as you no longer have to stand for hours at the stove with larger quantities and smell of frying fat afterwards. You can also shape figures from the dough, e.g. hearts or whatever, when cold they are well suited for the buffet.
