The recipe for the perfect homemade shortbread cookie! French cookies “Sable” are tender, crumbly, with a pleasant creamy taste, and just melt in your mouth! 🙂
French sable cookies: I stir the butter at room temperature with a spoon for about 1 minute, so that the butter becomes creamy, smooth and smooth.
I sift the icing sugar and add salt. Stir for a couple of minutes, until smooth.
I separate the white from the yolk. The yolk is put into the oil mixture, while I put the egg white. I mix well.
Sift flour into the resulting mass. I knead shortbread dough, you don’t need to knead it for a long time.
I transfer the dough to a plastic wrap or bag, form a small “log”. I wrap it in plastic and put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
After 2 hours, I grease the dough with protein and sprinkle with sugar (brown or white – this is optional). Cut into portions 7-8 mm thick and spread on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper.
French shortbread cookies are baked in a preheated oven at 180 ° C for 20-23 minutes.
I leave the finished Sable cookies for a couple of minutes on a baking sheet and put them on the wire rack until they cool completely.
