Instructions

  1. The evening before, the grain mixture (wheat, rye, oats, barley are suitable) is coarsely ground in a grain mill. For a Jupiter machine, I recommend setting 3 (at times turn it a little back and forth, then very fine and somewhat coarser pieces are included). If you don`t have a machine, you can use an old coffee grinder. After grinding, the grain is soaked in cold tap water. Choose the amount of water so that the grain is completely covered and there is still approx. 1 cm of liquid above the grain. Let stand at room temperature overnight. If you want, you can also soak dried fruits in an extra container.
  2. The liquid is usually absorbed the next morning. If not, please drain the rest. After a few preparations you will have the necessary experience of how much water is necessary.
  3. Roughly grate the apple, mash the banana with a fork and stir both into the cereal. The two types of fruit must absolutely be, if there is no allergy, because they give the porridge the right freshness and sweetness.
  4. Stir in yoghurt, cream (makes the mixture a little smoother), honey (for sweetening) and nuts and then refine as desired:
  5. - Chop up fresh fruits and fold in, e.g. strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, seedless grapes, mandarins, cherries, etc. All fruits with an intense, rather sour taste are actually suitable. We like grapes and strawberries best.
  6. - I always add chopped hazelnuts and walnuts.
  7. Crushed Brazil nuts, almonds or pumpkin / pine nuts would certainly also be conceivable.
  8. - Add dried fruits (possibly cut into small pieces). Raisins, plums, cherries or cranberries are definitely suitable.
  9. The muesli should be used up on the day of manufacture. It lasts another morning, but then the consistency becomes rather slimy and important nutrients are also lost. Better to prepare fresh again.
