Peel and dice the potatoes. Do the same with the onion. Heat the fat in the pan and slowly fry the potatoes over a moderate heat.
When the potatoes are slightly colored, mix in the onion pieces, put the peeled garlic in slices in the pan and continue frying. Finally add the roughly chopped nuts.
When the potatoes are done, turn off the heat and season the potatoes with salt and pepper. Fold in the basil, cut into fine strips.
Arrange the fried potatoes on a platter, garnish and serve.
