Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Crush the block chocolate and melt it together with the butter over a hot water bath and let it cool down a little.
  2. In the meantime, put the flour, sugar, eggs, baking powder and vanilla sugar in a bowl and stir together on a low heat. Now add the melted chocolate and stir everything together. Put the dough in a pan lined with baking paper and bake for about 30 minutes. It is best to use the toothpick test to see whether the dough is baked through.
  3. In the meantime you can prepare the mascarpone cream and the fruits. For the cream, whip the mascarpone, sugar and cream together. If you like it very sweet, you can add a little more sugar here, but I find the 4 tablespoon.
  4. Chill the cream again until it is layered.
  5. Now wash, clean and slice the strawberries. You can also use other fruits of your choice. I`ve already taken thickened sweet cherries and red grits.
  6. When the cake has cooled, crumble it.
  7. Now layer the individual components: First the mascarpone cream, then the fruits and finally the cake crumbs. Depending on the size of the jar, repeat until the jar is well filled.
  8. Tip:
  9. Instead of baking the chocolate cake yourself, you can also use store-bought chocolate cake.
