Instructions

  1. Cut the ginger unpeeled into thin slices and bring to the boil briefly with the sugar and 1 liter of water. In the meantime, pluck the mint leaves from the stems and add them to the no longer boiling stock. Let this cool down and only then add the freshly squeezed or purchased lemon juice. Pass the brew through a sieve and pour into a carafe.
  2. To serve, fill the brew with the same amount of tap water or carbonated mineral water and decorate with an ice cube and a mint leaf.
  3. The ginger gives the lemonade a certain spiciness that children don`t necessarily like. To soften the taste, skim off the ginger immediately after boiling and leave only the peppermint in the brew.
