Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients in the smoothie maker and mix.
  2. For those who have never processed a pomegranate, here are brief instructions: If you cut the pomegranate peel with a sharp knife from top to bottom and back on the other side, the pomegranate can be broken open. If necessary, you can cut the two halves into quarters again. Now you can break off individual pieces by hand so that the seeds are exposed. This can now be removed very easily.
  3. Since I never need all of the pomegranate seeds, I always freeze the rest. I do the same with the blueberries. I put the seeds or berries in a small freezer bag and lay it flat in the freezer, so you can easily remove individual berries or seeds later.
  4. Remarks:
  5. The combination of banana and strawberries serves as the basis for this smoothie. The pomegranate seeds and blueberries give the smoothie a special note and a particularly large number of vitamins and antioxidants.
  6. The pomegranate seeds have a very intense taste, but many don`t like them due to their consistency. In a smoothie, however, they are easy to process and their taste comes into its own here.
  7. The fleshy seeds of the pomegranate contain high amounts of gallotannins and anthocyanins, which have strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant effects.
  8. We find the same thing with blueberries. Among other things, it has many polyphenols that lower the risk of developing cancer and prevent harmful cardiovascular diseases. The blueberry also contains many minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium.
