Cut the peeled carrots (be sure to peel, otherwise the peel will pull threads) into approx. 3 cm thick slices. Eighth the potatoes.
Put the vegetables in a large saucepan and add enough water until half of the vegetables are in the water. Let it boil. If the water has boiled off but the vegetables are not soft enough to mash, add more water.
When the vegetables have cooked enough to pound, continue pounding until the potatoes and carrots are well mixed. It shouldn`t be a puree, smaller pieces are welcome.
Pour in milk and let it boil off briefly. Add butter, season with salt and pepper and mix in freshly chopped parsley if necessary. We also eat schnitzel, meatballs and meat loaf.
