Instructions

  1. Peel the cucumber and cut in half lengthways. Remove the soft pulp and seeds with a spoon.
  2. Prepare a batter from the minced meat, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, pepper and salt.
  3. Fill 3 hollowed out cucumber halves with it. Put the other halves of the cucumber on top as a lid. Wrap the cucumbers tightly with kitchen twine.
  4. Slowly brown the bacon and onion in a pan for about 10 minutes. Add the flour and let it brown.
  5. Pour in hot water. Add spices. Stir well.
  6. Put the cucumbers in and simmer in a closed pan over a moderate heat for about 30 minutes. Turn in between.
  7. Take the cooked cucumbers out of the pan, remove the spices and bay leaves and season the sauce again.
  8. Instead of the spices (except for pepper and salt), the sauce can also be prepared sweet and sour with a little sugar and vinegar.
  9. Boiled potatoes taste good with it.
