Instructions

  1. First dissolve the deer horn salt in the milk and set aside.
  2. Melt 200 g sugar with the honey in a high pan, then briefly bring to the boil. Add the remaining sugar and butter, stir and let cool.
  3. Transfer this mixture to a large bowl. Now stir the spices into the mixture, then add the mixture of milk and deer horn salt as well as the eggs, mix everything well again. Now gradually stir in the two types of flour. Now add the almonds, raisins, figs, orange peel and lemon peel as well as the prunes and the grated orange peel to the batter. Fill this mixture into 2 greased loaf tins.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 150 ° C for about 90 minutes. Attention, the baking time depends on the respective oven, so the stick test is very important.
  5. Grandma called this cake “Wunderkuchen” because it stays fresh for weeks.
