Instructions

  1. Pour the milk over the grated bread, cover and let stand until it is soft.
  2. Stir the fat until foamy and gradually add the sugar, vanilla sugar, eggs, spices, soaked bread and custard powder mixed with baking powder. Fold in the almonds, lemon peel and washed, drained raisins. Pour the mixture into a well-greased pudding tin sprinkled with breadcrumbs. Close the form with the lid and put in a saucepan with boiling water and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.
  3. Addition: vanilla sauce.
  4. Variation: Fold 500 g finely chopped apples or 250 g pitted firm cherries into the pudding mixture.
